Rotations Day 120 Learning Target:
Students can represent transformations in the plane; describe transformations as functions that take points in the plane as inputs and give other points as outputs. Compare transformations that preserve distance and angle to those that do not (e.g., translation versus horizontal stretch).

Rotations…
3
A rotation is a transformation that turns a figure about a fixed point called the center of rotation. An object and its rotation are the same shape and size, but the figures may be turned in different directions.
4
Rotate 90 Clockwise about the Origin (Same as 270 Counterclockwise)
Change the sign of x and switch the order
5
Rotate 90° clockwise about the origin
6
Rotate 90° clockwise about the origin
7
Rotate 90 Counterclockwise about the Origin (Same as 270 Clockwise)
Change the sign of y and switch the order
8
Rotate 90° counterclockwise about the origin
9
Rotate 90° counterclockwise about the origin
10
Rotate 180 about the Origin
ONLY Change the signs
11
Rotate 180° about the origin
