Engage parents through timely and strategic phone calls.
It was time to flip the dynamic and call parents to celebrate achievement of pupils. The idea was simple. Engage parents through timely and strategic phone calls. Remind staff what the action point was from the September 2015 meeting Sept 2015

Impact during Academic Year 2015.16
Faculty staff developed better relationships with pupils whilst at the same time engaging parents. Pupils reported positive impact towards engagement after receiving a positive phone call. All Parents/Carers were appreciative of phone calls – from high profile to “model students” The ratio of positive to negative contact in the maths faculty was 4:1 in favour of positive parental contact by the end of the academic year

Impact on Year 11 – August 2016 Results
A sample of year 11 results Positive phone calls contributed towards the progression and achievement of pupils.

…whilst not the sole contributor, positive phone calls impacted on the achievement of many pupils.
Pupils revealed to staff Link the support from the parents on achievement but highlight that this was obviously not the sole contributer. Many more students could have been selected.
