5 The glory of God & the veil of Moses (part 1) Ex. 34:29-35
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD.  When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.  But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them.  Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the LORD had given him on Mount Sinai.  When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.  But whenever he entered the LORD's presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded,  they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the LORD. The glory of God & the veil of Moses (part 1) Ex. 34:29-35

6 The glory of God & the veil of Moses (part 2)
We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 2 Corinthians 3:13 (NLT)  But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 2 Corinthians 3:16 (NLT) The glory of God & the veil of Moses (part 2) 2 Cor. 3  We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 2 Corinthians 3:13 (NLT)  But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 2 Corinthians 3:16 (NLT) What happens when the veil is taken away?

8 1. Imagine seeing Jesus for who he is.
2 Corinthians 3:18  So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord… Corinthians 3:18 (NLT) 1. Imagine seeing Jesus for who he is. Hebrews 12:2-3 (NIV)  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Author = “faith leader”; perfecter = completer.

9 2. Imagine reflecting the love of Jesus in our lives.
2 Corinthians 3:18  So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord… Corinthians 3:18 (NLT) 2. Imagine reflecting the love of Jesus in our lives. Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV) Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children  and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. How? Be imitators of God – in other words – see the Lord and reflect who he is. Gave himself up for us. Fragrant offering, sacrifice – reference to the worship of the temple We are the aroma of Christ to those who are perishing

10 3. Imagine standing together in unity.
2 Corinthians 3:18  So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord… Corinthians 3:18 (NLT) 3. Imagine standing together in unity. John 17:23 (NIV) May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

11 4. Imagine becoming more like Jesus.
2 Corinthians 3:18  So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 4. Imagine becoming more like Jesus. Romans 12:2 (NLT)  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

12 God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation. Hebrews 2:10 (NLT)

13 Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen
