Fig 1 Mechanisms underlying human anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is commonly mediated through an immune IgE-dependent mechanism. Rarely, it occurs through another immune mechanism. Uncommonly, it occurs through direct (nonimmune) activation of mast cells.
