BARCELONA 2019 Please make sure you have signed in. Passports and EHICs need to be collected at this meeting to be kept in school. All of the information tonight is published in the Parent/Carer Pack that will be ed closer to departure Isleworth and Syon School

4 Packing List Sensible bag for four days:
Full details in the Parent Pack but we want to draw your attention to: HOT weather appropriate clothing must be worn by all students. Make sure you include sunscreen (max 100ml!!) Sensible bag for four days: 1 hoodie + 4 t-shirts + 2 shorts + swimming gear + trainers + flip-flops + a hat + a towel - microfiber recommended / we will hire a towel for €2 from the hostel for personal hygiene or/and use in the pool (included in the budget) Please bring also a light bag to carry essentials (water, money, others…) Which must be placed inside the only bag/luggage for the check-in. Contact TUESDAY 9th JULY – FRIDAY 12th JULY We shall keep in contact via Twitter. The school website automatically posts updates if you do not have Twitter. During school hours please contact the school via the main phone line. Outside school hours there is an emergency mobile number. This is for EMERGENCIES ONLY. 16 Mobile Phones & Technology
Your son / ward is allowed to bring his mobile phone in order to take photos and listen to music whilst we are travelling. Under no circumstances should photos be taken of staff or uploaded to social media. 17 Accommodation We are staying in the TOC Hostel Barcelona
Students will be sharing rooms, details to be confirmed. The hostel is used to hosting school groups Each room will have a key and students will be responsible for their groups room and their own belongings inside Breakfast will be provided by the hotel “TOGETHER WE LEARN, ACHIEVE AND SUCCEED” Isleworth and Syon School

18 Travel We will be leaving from school on Tuesday 9th July at 8.30am. Students to arrive to school no later than 8.15am More details closer to follow. Travel by plane: EasyJet from and to Luton. Transfers by coach from and to school. Students will not be allowed to eat on the coach, please bring a NUT FREE packed lunch for the first day. We will have lunch at the airport. Students to bring a water bottle with them (to be emptied before we check-in). Meals Meals are included from dinner on Tuesday 9th until dinner on Friday 12th July. 21 Expectations Our vision is to be ‘Outstanding in Every Respect’
through the constant drive for excellence across the school. Students are ambassadors of Isleworth and Syon School. Any inappropriate behaviour will be sanctioned and parents/carers will be responsible for collecting students from Barcelona. On the coach: stay seated, fasten your seatbelt and behave sensibly. Treat hostel staff and guest, and language teachers with respect. Collective responsibility – for example, loss of room key/ damage to room. All students in that room will charged. 22 Staff will carry the spare inhaler/epi-pen.
Safety First Double medication is required for inhalers, epi-pens and other medication you deem fit. Staff will carry the spare inhaler/epi-pen. Medication should be handed to Miss Ciaurriz on departure – clearly named and labelled with instructions If your son/ward does not hold an EHIC then please apply now. It takes ten days! 23 Return/Friday We will keep twitter updated with expected return time. Confirmation of anticipated eta will be sent with parent pack Parent/carers are expected to collect students from just outside the school gates. Please be on time – it will have been a long journey for students and staff. 25 KEY INFORMATION Medicine to be handed to Miss Ciaurriz before departure. Depart from school in the morning 9th July 8.30am, return to school night 12th July (early 13th) Luggage to be kept with students until we load the coach 9th July 8.30am Extra money only needed for drinks and snacks, specially on the last night at Barcelona airport: packed dinner is provided, but we will take a late flight: 21:50 All contact details and addresses will be shared in parent pack All items taken at students own risk We recommend not to bring too many clothes, it will be hot and sunny.
