Rules-for bound reports
Report must follow the guidelines Mistakes must be crossed out; do not white out or rip out pages!! The Report must accompany each activity The Report is worth pts The Report is a Test Grade The Report is how you will receive credit for conducting or participating in the activity

Laboratory Report Headings
Title Introduction Purpose Materials Methods Data Conclusions

Title Use your creativity to rename the laboratory exercise
Must be related to the topic Can be humorous Can not use the original title of the exercise Example Original Title: Density Lab Your Title: How dense are you?

Introduction Give a brief paragraph about the topic
This may include an introduction of the basic principles or concepts needed to conduct the laboratory or activity

Purpose State the hypothesis or the purpose of the investigation
The purpose of this experiment is to determine the speed of chewing bubble gum The purpose of this experiment is to calculate and compare rates of chewing bubble gum Can be an if-then statement If I expose the plant to various concentrations of fertilizer; then an increase in growth will occur.

Materials List the items needed to conduct the investigation
Do not create a numbered listing Only list items you actually used When substitutions are used make sure you list the correct materials Bubble Gum Calculator Stopwatch

Methods Write step by step instructions
This is usually the same as what is in your handout Include any changes or deletions This has to be a numbered listing If you have several parts make sure you record them also

Data Record all data in this section May include Data Tables Charts

Conclusions Determine whether or not the hypothesis was proven
Justify your errors: Discuss any errors or reasons you feel you may not have proven the hypothesis(if you wasted material, why your data is not correct, etc) Analyze your data!!! Discuss your calculated data
