Summer Training Option for Rural Medicine STORM

3. Course Description Course began in 1992 – this is the 27th year!
Patients - Designed to provide students with early career exposure to the care of patients.
Summer - Offered to students between their first and second years of medical school by the Department of Family Medicine.
Experience - Students will learn clinical medicine with a community physician in primary care.
Rural - Students will collect data about key aspects of primary care practice in rural Kansas.

4. KAFP Organized Medicine
Students will participate in activities at the annual meeting of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians.

This elective includes a stipend that is funded by:
Dane G Hansen Foundation

The stipend will include
A base scholarship payment of $1200 or $2400
Additional $400 payment bonus provided to students who thoroughly complete all aspects of the program’s research activities.
