3 Renewable energy update: Installed on St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s
1,300 solar panels installed producing approx. 400kW peak on 70 homes and at six larger locations. The panels’ have 365,000 kWh generating capacity, equivalent to the TOTAL annual electricity consumption of nearly 50 homes on Scilly – that’s 100 mainland homes. 60kW from air source heat pumps, providing heat and hot water in eight homes, and five homes giving 15kWh battery storage. Electric vehicle integrated with the energy management system as a pilot for Go-EV. Detail: 1,299 solar panels installed producing 396kW peak The panels’ have 365,270 kWh generating capacity – equivalent to the TOTAL annual electricity consumption of 48 homes, 62kW from air source heat pumps ~100 mainland homes = actual 93 (Great Britain at 3,921 average domestic consumption per household (kWh) in 2017)

6 Business Support Update
206 businesses signed up to the programme. 158 on Scilly and 48 in Cornwall. 103 businesses are ‘complete’ having received 12 hours of support. Energy efficiency training has been delivered through a range of events and a specially designed website containing tools and resources to help businesses share learning and make the most of their energy monitoring equipment.

7 Mike Benney and Son Butchers
This business has a large amount of necessary refrigeration and frozen units. We visited the site when the business was closed so that we could switch things off and on and record the figures from the OWL energy monitor they received as part of their business support. We helped identify ways to reduce the energy consumption by moving produce into the main walk in fridge at the back overnight, so that the chilled units in the shop could be switched off when the shop is closed. This behaviour change has saved the business over £200 per month.
