2. Fluids A fluid is anything that has no fixed shape and can flow.
Fluids are useful to transport, process and use other materials.
A mixture of water and a solid is called a slurry.
Ex: Oil Sands

3. Fluids become Solids
Many things we see and use as solids were originally prepared as fluids.
Ex. Glass
Manufactured by heating a mixture of substances including sand and limestone

4. Fluids can hold other materials
The ability of fluids to spread or flow and to carry other materials makes them very useful
Ex: Toothpaste
Contains powdered materials, detergents, flouride, binders, and coloring and flavoring
