2 LIGHT Ch DARK Scout wonders if Mr. Tate had seen the light. Mr. Underwood (newspaper man) is there. Atticus has an extension cord with a light bulb on the end. Dim lights on in some shops. Atticus sitting under a light. Scout bursts into the circle of light. Dill and Jem join her in the light. The old Sarum bunch (Cunninghams) There was no moon out. Court house was dark. Mrs. Dubose’s flower bushes are covered with weeds. The men (lynch mob) are shadows, pigpen and whiskey smelling. Tom’s voice comes from the darkness.

3 LIGHT DARK Heck Tate warns Atticus about Worried that Tom will be lynched Tom Robinson being held in jail. The lights are off in the house. Dr. Reynolds and Mr. Avery are there. Mr. Underwood (newspaper Man) is there. Aunt Alexandra’s light goes out. There was no moon out. Scout wonders if Heck Tate has seen the light. 4 LIGHT DARK Some of the shops have dim lights on inside. Atticus is sitting under a light outside the jail, reading. Scout bursts into the circle of light. Dill and Jem follow her into the light. Mr. Underwood was covering Atticus with a shotgun (hiding in the dark) Court house lights are off, it is dark Lynch mob is described as shadows, dark and smelly, whiskey and pigpen smell, cold-natured. She is not going to see the trial. African Americans are sitting in the sun Mr. Underwood despises African Americans. Scout takes a spoonful of coffee and the rest was milk. Aunt Alexandra doesn’t want the truth spoken in front of Cal. Mr. Dolphus Raymond (white man) is drunk at 8 am. He likes African Americans. Has a woman and mixed children. He is rich and owns a lot of land. Ms. Crawford is going to watch the trial. The kids sit in the Colored balcony and from there they can see everything.

She will not go to the trial. African Americans sit in the sun. Mr. Underwood despises African Americans. Scout takes a spoonful of coffee and the rest is milk. Aunt Alexandra doesn’t want to speak the truth in front of Cal. Mr. Dolphus Raymond (white man) drunk at 8 AM. Rich, owns a lot of land. Likes to be with the African Americans. Has a woman and mixed children. Ms. Crawford is going to the trial. From the Colored balcony they could see everything.

Cal knows Mr. Underwood doesn’t like African Americans. Ms. Crawford is going to the trial. African Americans sit in the sun. Mr. Dolphus Raymond sits with them (he is white). He drinks whiskey from a sack. Rich and has a African American woman and children. From the Colored balcony we could see everything.

10 LIGHT Ch DARK Mr. Underwood despises African Americans Scout takes her coffee all milk with a spoonful of coffee. Aunt Alexandra doesn’t want to speak the truth in front of Cal. Mr. Dolphus Raymond (white man) is drunk at 8 AM, sits with the African Americans. Rich, owns a lot of land. Likes African Americans and has mixed children. Ms. Crawford goes to town. African Americans sat in the sun. From the Colored balcony they could see everything. Atticus’s light goes on Scout cries Cal knows what she means to the family. Ms. Maudie’s flowers were ablaze.
