Inquiry-based learning Step 1
Discovery learning Builds upon what the children already know The teacher can find out what the children already know by ASKING QUESTIONS. Record what they know by making a concept map.

Inquiry-based learning Step 2
Find out what the children WANT to know. The children can ask questions about the topic. On a large sheet of paper, make a list of all their questions.

The teacher makes a list of what the children NEED to know. The teacher guides the children in finding out what they need to know.
