1. Summer School information
We are planning new ‘ver intensive’ courses over the summer.
Courses are two weeks long (please see the intended set up on next page) and can take place at any point within the months of July and August, following both tutors availability and students demand.
Lessons take place on mornings and afternoons, followed by 1 or 2 hours Supported Independent Learning Sessions (SILS). Tutors deliver lessons as well as support during SILS hours.
Courses consist of 36 teaching hours and 24 SILS hours, making a total of 60 guided learning hours. Teaching hours are paid at a rate of £33.06 and SILS hours are £16.53.
Each course requires a CourseSites online Module to provide materials
and information used in class as well as activities for the SILS hours.
The whole module needs to be prepared in advance. 10 planning hours
(paid at a rate of £16.53) are allocated to this end prior to the course.
If the course can’t go ahead due to lack of enrolments, tutors are
Rewarded a total amount of £ for planning the course and preparation online materials. If the course goes ahead, these 10 planning hours are considered as an advance payment.
These courses require only 6 students to go ahead. Accommodation is also offered to students at an extra cost of £
