Soda and Mentos Project

Which Soda Will Have The Least Amount Of Liquid Leave The Container?
The soda that had the least amount left in the container is Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew 101 ml left.

Background When it comes to Science, it isn’t my strongest suit. I decided to chose the Soda and Mentos project because it was something I had already learned. When we did this in class, I actually liked it a lot considering I’m not that good at Science, but I ended up enjoying it more that I thought.
4
Hypothesis My hypothesis is, if I drop six Mentos in three different sodas (Mountain Dew, Orange Crush, and Coke) then, Mountain Dew will have the least amount of soda leave the container.
5
Variables Independent: The flavors of soda (Orange Crush, Mountain Dew, and Coke) Dependent: Amount of soda that left the container Controlled: The number of Mentos, the amount of soda, the same procedure
6
Procedure Insert the mentos (six) into the geyser tube
Attach the geyser tube to one soda. Pull the pin out of the geyser tube Pour the amount left in the bottle into a graduated cylinder Take the original amount of ml from the soda and subtract the amount that you have now. Record your measurements Repeat procedure for the other sodas

Conclusion My question was which soda will have the least amount of liquid leave the container? For my experiment, I put six mentos into three different types of sodas (Coke, Orange Crush, and Mountain Dew). In the end, Coke had 76 ml leave the container. Orange Crush had 89 ml leave the container. While Mountain Dew had 101 ml leave the container. My hypothesis is incorrect because I inferred that Orange Crush would have the leave amount of soda leave the container. In the end, my data did not match my hypothesis because Mountain Dew had the least amount of liquid leave the container. While doing this project, I have learned that if you drop six mentos into Mountain Dew then not that much soda will come out of the bottle. Next time, I will most likely use the same amount of Mentos but different sodas and less soda.
