20. Perfect CPD Portfolio – The Theory
To comply with the 1st of the HPC Standards for CPD, the perfect CPD Portfolio would contain evidence of regular CPD activities.
Because you must “maintain a continuous, up-to-date and accurate record of CPD activities”.
Regular means at least once a month.

21. Perfect CPD Portfolio – The Theory
To comply with the 2nd of the HPC Standards for CPD, the perfect CPD Portfolio would contain evidence of a variety of CPD activities.
Because you must “demonstrate that CPD activities are a mixture of learning activities relevant to current or future practice”.
There are at least 52 CPD activities to choose from…5 or 6 regular activities should be manageable.

22. Perfect CPD Portfolio – The Theory
To comply with the 3rd and 4th of the HPC Standards for CPD, the perfect CPD Portfolio would contain evidence of reflection on your learning confirming that it is relevant and beneficial to your practice and to clients.
Because you must “ensure that CPD has contributed to the quality of your practice and service delivery”….and…..
Because you must “ensure that your CPD benefits the service user”.

23. Perfect CPD Portfolio – The Theory
To comply with the 5th of the HPC Standards for CPD, the perfect CPD Portfolio would produce all of the evidence of compliance with the other four standards and that you are a reflective practitioner.
Because you must “present a written profile containing evidence of your CPD upon request…which is your own work”.
Keep an updated record of what’s in your portfolio…part of the HPC CPD profile.

Have an annual CPD plan
Undertake CPD activities regularly
Make sure it’s a variety of activities
Record learning outcomes as soon after the activity as possible
Always show how what you have learnt is relevant and intended to benefit your practice and your clients
Now, get to know the BSHAA on-line CPD system and use it regularly

There is an essential connection between reflection on learning and CPD.
