6. Student-Parent-School Compact
The compact is an agreement by the district, the student and the parent to assist in student achievement. This is found in the handbook that each student receives each year at registration. The following information is contained in that compact:

10. Definition of Parent Involvement
Statutory definition of Parent Involvement:
The participation of parents in regular 2-way communication involving student academic learning and other activities. RTHS will ensure that:
Parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning
Parents are encouraged to be actively involved at school
Parents are full partners in their child’s education
Carry out all other activities as required by NCLB

11. Title 1 Parental Involvement Policy
General Expectations:
RTHS will consult parents when writing and implementing the school improvement plan
RTHS will adopt the parent compact
RTHS will incorporate this plan into the school improvement plan
RTHS will see to it all parents can participate in school improvement processes regardless of extenuating circumstances
RTHS agrees to submit any parent comments with the plan when the plan is submitted
RTHS will involve parents in how NCLB funds are allocated
RTHS will provide support for parent involvement activities

12. Title 1 Parental Involvement Policy
Implementation of parent involvement policies:
RTHS will distribute the parent involvement policy, compact and Right to Know letter at the annual meeting
RTHS will post the parent involvement policy on the website
RTHS will use weekly late start time to identify strategies to improve student achievement
RTHS will provide a title 1 survey to parents
RTHS will have an annual meeting and parents will be notified by mail and .
Information about parent involvement will be shared at weekly late start meetings
The school will work with all parents to accommodate any special requests they may have

13. Parents Right to Know
All parents are entitled to request information regarding the professional qualifications of his/her child’s teachers. This includes:
State qualifications and licensing
Whether the teacher has an emergency or provisional certificate
The degree earned by the teacher
Any qualifications of paraprofessionals
