Virtual Reality Storytelling for Non-profits

PROBLEM Documentary films can be didactic, patronizing and no quantifiable impact. The online world is no-longer flat and there are new ways in which people are distributing video-content. In 2015, Magnifyre (a digital marketing agency) partnered with StoryUp, a Missouri based VR company to run a test comparing engagement with traditional, flat frame video with 360-degree video. We compared both versions of a video featuring a single ballet dancer on a stage, promoted to dancers between on Facebook. The ads were optimized for video views. The 360 video gives power to the viewer. It makes them a part of the story. Often, non-profit organizations try to reach their donor agencies and individuals interested in volunteering their time or resources/donating money to their communities by way of didactic, promotional content video content and incite a connection between people who care and people who are affected. For centuries, documentary film was trying to fill that space and non-profits

PRODUCT (WHO WE ARE) Virtual Reality platform which allows non-profits to use their low-cost 360 videos to create highly interactive experiences using existing templates to evoke empathy, attract donors and market their social causes. Bringing Art (Storytelling) + Technology ( Virtual Reality) Creating sophisticated VR experiences not only requires expertise with graphic design, 360 editing, 3D modeling, gameplay and interaction design, it also requires programming skills.
4
DESIGN MVP(MULTI-NARRATIVE)
Research proves that a Human Design Centered approach which is interactive can help solve that problem for sustainable impact and connecting communities.
