2. Tools & Equipment
Tools and Equipment have changed a drastic amount, blowing the old equipment out of the water.
Modern day equipment is a lot more protective and proven more useful.
New Equipment and Tools have also been introduced into the business since 1980 and prior.

3. Tools
In the present day, we use a wide variety of tools. They can be used for breaking things, overhaul, just about everything you can think of, a there is a tool and a place for it. The tools they had back then were very basic, like pry bars, hammers, and axes. Now there are tools made for everything. It is a lot more convenient in the present day to approach a fire.

5. As you can see…
Firefighting gear has stayed at its roots but has had major improvements and adjustments. Whether it be by changing different materials that it’s made out of or simply by adding new equipment and tools to the hands of Fire Fighters.

6. Fire Engines
Fire trucks back then were not even close to what modern day fire trucks are capable of doing.
Modern day trucks are able to carry a huge amount of water and a lot of necessities when entering on a scene of about any situation, and a huge amount of hose line, at least 1000 ft. per truck.
Fire trucks back then were only used for transporting crew and water, and pumps, they didn’t carry anything near what we carry now.
