3. Carter Beauford Biography
Grew up in Charlottesville, VA surrounded by music
Father played trumpet, mother and sister played piano, oldest brother the bass, and his youngest brother played the saxophone
Went to school for occupational therapy and taught in Albemarle County, VA and Winston-Salem, NC.
Returned to Charlottesville and joined the jazz-fusion band “Secrets” with LeRoi Moore, Tim Reynolds, and Butch Taylor (all would be members of DMB)

4. Why the Drums?
Father took him to see Buddy Rich at 3 because he couldn’t find a babysitter
Enjoyed Jazz and practiced on his own mini drumset
“My dad was a jazz trumpet player and kinda hipped me to the whole music scene. And he made it look like so much fun I decided to go ahead and pursue it.” 
Beauford has shown up on albums by Carlos Santana, Blues Traveler’s John Popper, Victor Wooten of Bela Fleck’s Flecktones and Robin Andre (AKA Boy Wonder)

I am citing my work because I would never dream of plagiarizing and I am an expert at citing my sources. Mrs. Hahn has taught me well and given me the skills needed to ace this project. I have done my very best to stay on task and have scheduled LNL time if I needed extra help. This is the best powerpoint presentation ever created by a person. It’s amazing.
