Do now: Describe OR make an illustration of the different ways the moon has appeared in the night sky

2 Why does the appearance of the moon change?
The moon does not produce visible light, it only reflects light from the sun. As the moon revolves around the Earth, different portions of the moon are illuminated by sun light. The different viewable portions are called “Phases” There are 8 main phases. This is a cyclic event
