At the sow treatment level, n = 18 offspring each from control and FMTP sows. At the offspring treatment level, n = 12 each in the CON, FMT1, and FMT4 groups. For each volatile fatty acid, bars that do not share a letter (a, b, c) are significantly different due to a sow × offspring treatment interaction (*, P ≤ 0.05). φ indicates a difference at the sow treatment level (P ≤ 0.05); λ indicates a difference at the offspring treatment level (P ≤ 0.05).
