4 Task: To write a story about the adventures of Pablo the Pebble as he has travelled down the River Tees. Pablo is high up on the bank, at the start of the waterfall. What happens to Pablo? What happens to Pablo now? What happens to Pablo next? Where does Pablo end up? In pairs: Plan out Pablo’s adventures in a flow diagram. Where does he start, what happens to him on the way and where does he end up? You need at least 5 points on your diagram.

8 Adding excellent geographical language:
Now at each stage think about the excellent key words that you could use. Add these to the side of your flow diagram. Challenge: can you add geographical locations? 11 Peer assessment Read another student’s story.
Write a WWW (What Went Well) comment and an EBI (Even Better If) comment on their work. Think about the following: Have they included excellent geographical language to clearly explain what is happening to Pablo? Do they understand what happens as a river flows downstream? Have they missed anything out? Have they included specific locations along the River Tees?
