Introduction Gender equity in medicine is a prominent topic in the medical profession represented in medical editorials, scientific literature, and mass media. There is a gender disparity in the medical profession, including evidence for inequities in evaluation, promotion and avancement 1. Contributors to gender inequity in medicine include implicit and explicit bias, cultural factors, unsuportive work environments, and representation of women in medicine 2. 1. Shannon M. IV. Conclusions 1.Although our results indicate that the proportion of women doctors is incresed in healthcare field, women continue to be under-represented as head of departments and in a leadership position. 2. Women doctors in Romania are mostly general practitioners. 3. Younger doctors, including especially women, do not want to be general practitioners !!
