Ionic Compounds and Their Properties
An ionic bond is an attraction between oppositely charged ions. Ionic compounds tend to : Be brittle solids at room temperature Have high melting points Be highly soluble in water Conduct electricity in solution

Covalent Compounds and Their Properties
Covalent compounds are compounds that form when atoms share electrons. A molecule is the smallest particle into which a covalent compound can be divided and still be the same compound. Properties of covalent compounds: Some are not soluble in water Low melting points Some do not form ions in water and do not conduct electricity
