Deadline to apply for LOA is last day of classes. No application will be accepted during
Final Exams
School Managers are responsible to record all LOA/return students and track their LOA time, send notifications about their status.

5. Medical reason: covers a serious diseases and pregnancy/maternity

Medical verification without VKK confirmation (please ask a student to go adviser or Student Affairs Department)
Maximum period is 2 years for maternity cases, all others 1 year only

6. Immediate Family Member
If someone from family got sick or lost job:

7. Other reasons Internship / Job offer – for 3.0 GPA students only
Other reasons approved by Provost

8. Withdrawal from NU by own decision
Application, please ask a student to specify the reason. OR accepts applications from students only or from other person based on the notarized power of attorney
The decision signed by Mr. President get signed in 5-7 working days in average
Withdrawn student may apply to NU for the next year again but not on the state scholarship basis
Please, do not accept any application from students and submit it on their behalf to OR

9. Dismissal from NU ! School Dean Provost NU President OR
If your School is recommending UG student to be dismissed:
Pease refer to “Withdrawal and Dismissal Policy for UG and CPS program students”, Section 2 and choose a reason(s)
If your School is recommending GR and PhD student to be dismissed:
Pease refer to “Academic Policies and Procedures for Graduate programs of NU”, Clause 94 and choose a reason(s)
School of Medicine refers to own APP for MD programs
Please be careful with a references and check a documents itself you are referring to

10. OR prepares draft decision on your recommendation:
Appeal is accepted and a student status remain active
Appeal is declined and student is given a chance to withdraw by own decision. Student submits the checkout list and pick up documents
Student will have 14 days to appeal President’s decision
Mr. President will consider the case again and make a Final decision
