2. ECOSTAT 3-4 July 2006 Proposed way forward:
To prepare a ‘Proposal version 2.0’ in light of comments received on version 1.0 and including new CEN working items
To launch a 2nd Consultation phase in 31 July among ECOSTAT members
Comments on version 2.0 to Harmonisation Steering Group on the 8 September
Updated version 2.1 presented to the WFD Committee in 25 October

3. What was achieved
All comments received on version 1.0 were considered and if appropriate included in a version 2.0
Fail to launch the 2nd consultation phase
Modified the consultation plan

4. Revision of Standard methods in Annex V
Draft list of standard methods to include in the Commission Decision for adaptation of section of Annex V of the WFD
Comments are of difficult interpretation for deciding the relevance of methods for the WFD
It was decided to further consult ECOSTAT on this list of methods
The current ‘Proposal version 2.0’ is intended to support experts in the consultation of the list methods

5. List of methods for consultation
It will be distributed by Monday, 16 October
We want a yes/no response
If no a short justification

6. Identification of future standardisation items
Propose to hold a Workshop in Autumn 2007 with coast, lake and river expert networks
Information on CEN new working items, GIGs and other relevant methods will be distributed before the workshop
Result should be clear identification standardisation needs
The results from the workshop will constitute the input to CEN
