Purpose:
Process improvements for data requests to DSS for research purposes
Current State:
Investigators complete and submit REB application and submit a data request to DSS once REB application approved
Limited coordination between investigators, REB, and DSS
Confusion between what has been approved / what can be provided resulting in
Project delays
Amendments required to receive data
Privacy breaches
Recent introduction of EDW likely to increase this confusion as it organizes, labels and integrates data very differently than the clinical systems
