The way you present your written work can affect your grades

You Convey Information...
Not only by the words you use (i.e. the content), but also by: Structure of document Appearance, including: Font Size Bold, italic and underline Other methods such as lists, quotes, parentheses (brackets) etc.

Use Correct Document Structure
Reports Have a title page Have a Table of Contents Use headings to separate topics May use bullet points Essays Do not have a title page Do not have a Table of Contents Generally do not use headings to separate topics Generally do not use bullet points

Critical Information on Every Page
All reports and essays must include the following on every page: Subject name Task name / title School name / SACE code Student name / SACE student number Page number (except for title pages)

Make it Easy for the Marker
Use a simple font that is an easily readable size (Arial 11 pt.) Space the text within the paragraph (1.5 line spacing) Separate paragraphs with white space When appropriate, use: Headings and subheadings Lists with either numbers or bullet points

Use Styles! Be Consistent
All headings of equal importance must be formatted identically The formatting of headings must reflect their significance, either greater or lesser All paragraph (body) text must be formatted the same way Use Styles!
