Focuses on both speaking AND listening Exchanging information in a variety of ways Talking to others, s, meetings, phone calls, reports, presentations, debates, etc. Why is it important? Key to every successful business and relationship Don’t want to miss out on important messages and cues

3 Interview Dress Code What to wear: What not to wear:
Dress pants, collared shirt, dress shoes Dress, skirt and top, blazer, nice shoes What not to wear: Jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, crop tops, runners, sandals

4 Brainstorm With your group, think about the following two questions:
1. What are some things you SHOULD do in an interview? 2. What are some things you SHOULD NOT do in an interview? Write down your answers on a piece of paper Be prepared to share your answers in 5 minutes 

6 Barriers to Communication

7 Body Language Tells us what is unsaid while communicating with others
Indicator of what people actually mean Important for communicating with people from different aspects of our lives Help you understand a person, and helps other understand things about you
