House Keeping Absences- Please make sure to send a note after the day missed or before. An will be considered a note. Lunch account- Students will not be allowed to charge a lunch. They must have a positive balance. Money must be put on account through the company. Please put money on the account tonight so that it shows up by Wednesday. Arrival- Please do not walk across the parking lot to bring your children to school at Kay Circle after 7:45. You may park and walk them in at Trinity Drive after 7:45. The Trinity drive doors will not be open until 7:55 daily. Dismissal- Please do not start lining up for second dismissal until 3 on regular school days and 2 on early release days.

House Keeping 5. Dismissal- Please be on time to pick up your child. Parents will receive a phone call if their child is not picked up on time. They will then be taken to extended day and the parent will be charged for their day at extended day. 6. Extended Day – Students must be set up with extended day on a monthly or once a week plan. Each student is allowed only 4 drop in days a month. Extended day is on a monthly billing cycle. Any questions please feel free to talk to the Extended day coordinator, April Mongomery.

Behavior Behavior is listed daily in your child’s yellow folder.
Every child starts on green every day. Yellows will have a short explanation on the folder. Red will be followed up with an , note, or phone call. The students have the ability to earn back a green light if they are caught making good choices.

Folders and Spelling notebook
The yellow folder and spelling notebook are sent home daily. The students are responsible for bringing the folder and notebook back and forth. Teacher’s check the folder for homework, notes, money, etc. Students pack their backpacks. Teacher’s put papers from the week in the red folders and these are sent home on Fridays.

Grades The subjects taught daily are Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Math,
S.S. / Science, and Religion. The only graded subjects are Reading, Phonics, Spelling and Math. The grades are based on 80% effort and 20% achievement. Effort Grades - This will include homework, group work and whole class activities Achievement Grades - These are given for individual, classroom assignments. Mostly assessments will fall in this category. Students receive at least 2 grades per week, per subject. These grades include an effort grade and an achievement grade. In non – graded subjects, students receive an S or N, based on teacher observation, in class performance tasks, and effort.

Homework Homework will be sent home Friday for the following week.
Spelling, Math, and Reading will be done nightly Mon. – Thurs. Except for special projects, there is no weekend homework. Homework is intended to be direct reinforcement of daily learning. Homework will be put in the gradebook as an effort grade. Time breakdown for homework is: reading min. , spelling journal 10 min., math 5 min., Spelling City 20 min. a week.

Reading Log Reading folders will keep track of students AR reading and any other books they read at home. In the log they have their goal and they need to score 85% and above on AR test. Once a child has read 25 books, they will receive a free book from the book-box. We keep the book box filled with points we get from Scholastic book orders. Every child will receive a free book coupon on their birthday for the next order.
