This pooled data from 11 prospective cohort studies with 650,386 white adults found a significant correlation in all-cause mortality when waist circumference was combined with BMI. Note that even at a low BMI, there is an increased risk for all-cause mortality with a waist circumference > 90 cm (36 inches).
