19 THE MALBEC REBORN Originally Malbec was up to 60% of planted vineyards in St. Emilion and Pomerol region in France Malbec reborn in Argentina. Our vineyards are ungrafted vines planted in 1929 Malbec grown in “Las Compuertas” (Vistalba) & Altamira Vineyards The ripening period of 70 days in Argentina is much longer than in other areas of the world (Bordeaux is approvimately 45 days)

LOCATION “Finca Las Compuertas” (planted 1929) - Vistalba Terrace, Mendoza, Argentina WINE CHARACTER Intense notes of red plums, cherries, figs, dry apricots and a distinct violet aroma stand out. This ultimate Malbec expression from Las Compuertas Estate is combined with oak ageing which adds elegant vanilla, chocolate and crystallized oranges hints. WINEMAKING Fermentation: 3-4 weeks of maceration at 28°-30 °C / 81°F Oak Ageing: 18 month (100% New French oak barrels) Bottle Ageing: 18 months bottle ageing prior to release Storage potential: 15 years FOOD & WINE PAIRING Best with haute cuisine, tomato-based sauce, beef and game meat, aromatic and spicy Latin or fusion food. 93 pts Robert Parker
