Physical Activity for Health
The World Health Organisation (WHO) - Physical activity is defined as any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure. Physical inactivity has been identified as the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality causing an estimated 3.2 million deaths globally. 1 in 3 adults are not active enough World Health Organisation (2018)

Prolonged Sitting College students in environments that encourage prolonged sitting. A study by Felez-Nobrega et al., (2018) interruptions to prolonged sitting and encouraging short breaks may improve cognitive function and increase academic achievement. Sitting for more than 8 hours a day with no additional physical activity is similar to that of smoking and obesity in terms of mortality risk (Ekelund 2018) Owen et al., (2010)
