Great Marsden St John's 'Pick and Mix' Homework
Woodpeckers Spring Term 2 This 'Pick and Mix' homework is for the whole half term. Red Boxes need to be completed regularly each week. Yellow Boxes must be done at some point during the half term. Challenge yourself to the green box activities. These do not have to be done, but if you want to push yourself, that would be super! Reading Read at home at least 3 times a week and sign your reading record every time. If you are reading your own books or books from the library, they count too! Make an animal information page for a favourite zoo animal. Return by The Empty Box! You can do anything you like; a picture of something that interests you; write about something you have done - the choice is yours... Find items around your house that weight more or less than 100g. Record your findings in a table or in pictures. Return by Develop your balance! Which body parts can you balance on? How long can you stand on one leg for? Are there any ways to help you balance for longer? Practice halving numbers to 20. The more you practice the faster you will get! Use objects at first to help build a picture in your mind of what half looks like. A Family Learning Activity Retell traditional tales together. You could read them in a book, act them out or make stick puppets to retell the stories. Spellings Remember to learn your spellings for the test on Friday. Talk about... traditional tales… Which are your family and friend’s favourites? Who are the good and mean characters? Log on to Pobble using the passcode inside your reading record. Find a piece of writing you like and leave a positive comment. Retell the Easter story through pictures. Write a film review of a film or television programme you have watched recently. Return by Log on to play Prodigygame.com using the log in details inside your red maths book. Create an Easter themed collage using the skills we have developed in class. Think carefully about choices of colour and texture. Return by Number Facts Practice your number target from your red maths log. This should be done at least 3 times a week and signed every time. Please tick and initial the activities your child has completed.
