ADS-B Weather only shows a radar overlay with no information about what altitude the rain is at You can still call Flight Service for in route weather updates Don’t rely on onboard weather to skirt the edge of a storm. Leave yourself a buffer of at LEAST 20 miles around thunderstorms Weather data ATC has available is limited.
