ASL Literature is composed of poetry or stories told in American Sign Language (ASL) with an artistic approach usually reserved for theatrical performances.
ASL poetry is signed in ASL, not English word order.
Examples of ASL literature:
ASL poetry
Text about Deaf topics or written by a Deaf individual
ABC stories
Number stories
Classifier stories
How is ASL literature and culture, passed down through the generations?
Lit and Culture are passed down through the residential schools.
