PUT A LAYER OF NEWSPAPER DOWN ONTO THE DESK TOO!!
5 minutes GET ORGANISED!! You will need the following equipment for the lesson: A set of redimix paints A ½ filled water pot Some mixing and painting brushes Any materials you have brought for decorating your mask PUT A LAYER OF NEWSPAPER DOWN ONTO THE DESK TOO!!

Learning Objectives You will: What I’m looking for…
Develop your painting skills. Learn to decorate and embellish your mask with any features which are included on your final design. Learn to work effectively as a team. Learn to use the hot glue guns safely. What I’m looking for… You can work together as a team and delegate the different roles required. You can embellish and decorate your African mask to finalise it like the plans you made in your design work. You can safely operate the hot glue guns.

Operating the hot glue guns!
The glue which melts inside the gun comes out VERY hot and will burn!!! Therefore…do not mess with it and do not put it directly onto your skin 3

40 minutes You have this lesson to add any painted detailing onto your final African mask and also to add any embellishments/decorations (such as feathers, jewels, sequins, fabrics etc.) 4

PREP.WORK You need to complete the key words sheet which is in the back of your sketchbook. Try to add a definition for each one BUT they should be IN YOUR OWN WORDS!!

5 minutes Turn to the back of your sketchbook, look at the learning objectives from the start of the lesson, tick each statement to indicate how confident you feel you have met each one (fully, partially, not at all).
