20 Faculty who teach Salem-based courses commit to:
Offering the course At least twice in the next three years At the Chemeketa Community College Downtown Salem Center In the evening or on a Saturday As a hybrid course Collaborating with WOU’s academic technology experts to design the course, including online elements Other faculty (through a PLC) to learn about and address the needs of working adult learners, and to enhance coherence among the constellation of courses. Including in the course Substantive connections to at least one of the Liberal Studies themes (e.g., the Human Condition, Global Citizenship) An assignment where students reflect on your the in their Liberal Studies academic journal Participating faculty receive a $1000 stipend each time they offer the course for participating in these activities.
