You can be a member of the section without being a member of the parent Society, but there are benefits to being a member. The goals of this program are to expand ASPB’s service to early career scientists, promote the importance of plant science to the general population and encourage and participation in ASPB and the plant science community as well as to provide leadership experience and training.

Scholars Program Annual program open to exceptional undergraduate and graduate students studying plant science. An experience intended to serve as a foundation for a career in plant science. Program includes: 1-year membership in ASPB Individual virtual mentoring/resume review session with an established plant science professional Private online group network for assignments, activities, ongoing discussions and Q&A A hands-on virtual learning program that includes career workshops, round-table discussions, and workshops that help develop skills for success. Topics include: Career Planning, Leadership in science, Creating effective research presentations, writing and communications skills, interviews and much more. Round-table Discussions: Topics decided by the group Find out more: aspb.org/scholars ASPB had the inaugural class of the Scholar program in the and is just about to wind up the class, which was twice as large as the first class. Both sessions have been considered a success by the students involved, the sponsors of the program and ASPB. This program included education and activities related to career development, leadership, effective writing and presenting and much more.
