1 Free At Last, Free At Last!
1 John 5:16-21

2 We Have Great Freedom In Christ
Mostly we don’t live as though we are free. What still binds us? What will truly set us free?

3 The Chains Of Sin 1 John 5: If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.

4 Sins That Cause Death? Sin that results in physical death?
Sin that results in full scale apostasy and spiritual death?

5 Sin is sin! And it binds us.
Romans 6: Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

6 Casting Off Sin’s Chains
1 John 5: We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

7 Do We Understand Our Security?
Born of God Kept safe by Christ Evil one can’t hurt us Children of God Given understanding In Him

8 Safe In God John 10: and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

9 Refusing False Gods 1 John 5:21 -- Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

10 What is idolatry? Luke 20:  "Show Me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?" They said, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
