1 Roundup 101 Zoom 98th State 4-H Roundup July 24 – 26, 2019

2 Objectives of Roundup To provide opportunities for youth to participate in leadership training that will help them develop a stronger 4-H program in the community, county and state. To involve youth in learning experiences that will afford specific skills and information in areas of interest, as well as in leadership and citizenship. To offer information about career opportunities and to stimulate interest in preparing for a career. To provide inspiration for promoting 4-H To recognize the achievement of 4-H members and direct public attention to the programs of 4-H. To offer opportunities for youth to make new friends, share experiences and establish individual goals.

4 Who Can Attend? Must have completed the 7th grade of the year attending by July 1 of the current year. Approved by County Extension Educator Must sign required participation forms. These forms must be given to county Extension educators that are attending Roundup. Only full-time registered delegates and chaperones may attend Roundup, with the exception of: 1. Persons participating in the State 4-H Awards programs who have been invited to Thursday events, 2. Parents and other guests attending Honor Night. NO Extra Guests in the Dorm! All youth, including Leadership Council and Ambassadors must come as part of their county delegation.

5 How Much Does it Cost? Everyone Except State Leadership Council
Roundup Registration –The Commons Residence Halls -$135.00 Tuesday County Night Out –$25.00 per person Optional Linen Package - $15.00 per person Parking Permit (if purchased in advance) - $1.00 per vehicle T-Shirt is included in the Registration Fee. State Leadership Council (include in County Registration) 1/2 price Roundup Registration Fee $67.50 Contact Cathleen with questions

7 Chaperones All registered adults will have a minimum of two assignments during Roundup. The program can’t function without educators and volunteers. Choose chaperones who will be helpful to you and your youth. They must have proper training (Working with minors, Title VII & IX) Current in 4HOnline Volunteers must be Certified Provide chaperones a written position description. Conduct an orientation and discuss expectations.

Counties Night Out – Tuesday, July 23.  Reservation must be made on the Fee Transmittal Form.  Payment will be due with other registration materials. 14 What to Bring? Appropriate clothing, please see dress code.
Money, venders and concessions during Pete’s Picnic and Dances Bedding and Towels (beds are twin XL.) Res. Life suggests full flat sheet and sleeping bag if you don’t have appropriate sized sheets. Plastic bags to put dirty or wet stuff for trip home. Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, sunscreen, hair dryer, other daily needed items) Snacks are welcome

15 Miscellaneous After you register watch for a confirmation from Ag Conferences (Jandra Pricer or Stacy Payne). It will be a summary of your enrollment that includes youth workshops, etc. Verify that names are spelled correctly and youth are assigned properly. Please verify ASAP. Review workshops and schedules for conflicts etc.. Mid-July, you will receive an that will included, Housing Assignments and Lodging Forms. Please complete and excel form and bring three copies to Registration. Be on the look out for Roundup APP It will have announcements and changes.
