1 Maximum Load Rating Consumer Tires
TYREGTR-19-11 Agenda item 4.2 Maximum Load Rating Consumer Tires Action Item from Industry Meeting 2018/07/26 Industry Review

2 Abstract from Industry meeting minutes
Tyre Maximum Load/Load carrying capacity with speed Concerning UN R30, ETRTO noticed that the load speed provisions (5% resp 3% per 10 kmph, for ‘V’, ‘W’, ‘Y’ speed symbols are missing in the current GTR text and need to be reintroduced. JATMA, ETRTO and USTMA agreed to add this provision in GTR Item will be addressed to IWG

3 Missing paragraphs from UN R30
2.37. "Maximum load rating" means the maximum mass the tyre is rated to carry; for speed not exceeding 210 km/h the maximum load rating shall not exceed the value associated with the load capacity index of the tyre; for speed higher than 210 km/h, but not exceeding 240 km/h, (tyres classified with speed category symbol "V") the maximum load rating shall not exceed the percentage of the value associated with the load capacity index of the tyre, indicated in the table below, with reference to the speed capability of the car to which the tyre is fitted. For intermediate maximum speeds linear interpolations of the maximum load rating are allowed. For speeds higher than 240 km/h (tyres classified with speed category symbol "W") the maximum load rating shall not exceed the percentage of the value associated with the load capacity index of the tyre, indicated in the table below, with reference to the speed capability of the car to which the tyre is fitted. For speeds higher than 270 km/h (tyres classified with speed-category symbol "Y") the maximum load rating shall not exceed the percentage of the value associated with the load capacity index of the tyre, indicated in the table below, with reference to the speed capability of the car to which the tyre is fitted.

4 Recommendations from the Industry:
To introduce the R30 provisions on load capacity with speed in Annex 5 of the GTR. Modifying the title accordingly To add in the technical rationale the reason to introduce these provisions for consistency with the High speed test conditions; To add in 2.33 the reference to Annex 5.
