1 Computer-aided Quantification of Pulmonary Fibrosis in Patients with Lung Cancer: Relationship to Disease-free Survival Of 217 patients with lung cancer, 47 (21.7%) had interstitial abnormalities at CT, which was associated with worse disease-free survival (hazard ratio [HR]: 3.3; P < .001). Percent of pulmonary fibrosis measured CAD software was independently associated with interstitial abnormalities at CT (odds ratio: 3.1; P < .001). In adjusted models, greater percent pulmonary fibrosis at CT measured CAD was independently associated with worse disease-free survival (HR: 1.3; P < .001). In a 74-year-old with the typical usual interstitial pneumonia pattern and squamous cell carcinoma (arrow), CT shows peripheral reticulation and honeycombing (small arrows). 3D image shows decreased lung volume, and the lung surface is covered with yellow H pattern lesions.
