2. Why procedural compliance
Our procedures are one of several barriers to avoid an unwanted situation occurring
To do the job correctly and safely we need to know the procedures connected to the job, and if the procedure is not correct we need to change it!
Excuses for not following procedures:
”I am too busy – and this procedure takes to much time”
”The procedure is stupid and wrong – and it doesn’t mean anything for safety”
”This was how I learned to use it – and it is the way everyone else does it too”
”The procedure is to complicated to use for the simple job I am about to do”
”The supervisor asked me to do it this way”

3. How and why the procedures are updated
If you can’t do the job as the procedure describe, you should send in a revision request so that the procedure can be updated
You cannot deviate from a procedure without having a deviation in place

5. How – Revision Request competition
From until we will run a revision request (RR) competition
The two best RR from each rig will be rewarded at the end of the quarter. Main criteria for the evaluation will be the RR with the best improvement potential
What to do:
Read the procedures related to your job
If you find something that can be improvement write a RR (or ask the safety officer/section leader to help you)
After writing the RR hand in the number of the RR to the VO to take part in the competition
The jury will consist of the VO and the HSE Coordinator for your rig
You can turn in as many RR’s as you want!
