1 Project 4: IoT-enabled peer-to-peer energy trading REU Students: Eric Elliott & Nicholas Shanklin Graduate mentors: Sharare Zehtabian Faculty mentor(s): Qun Zhou & Damla Turgut Week 5: June 24th, 2019 — June 28th, 2019 Accomplishments Created most of the web application for energy trading, allowing users to register and create accounts for the platform, as well as post offers for available energy and place bids on these offers Problem & Solutions The creation and maintenance of the database used to store user information was (and continues to be) difficult, but online tutorials have been mostly helpful in managing problems Plans for next week More thoroughly implement bidding for the system — at the moment bids can be posted, but some functionality is still missing Integrate the web application with the solar data we were given, as well as the predictive algorithms we have examined to give users suggestions (e.g. suggested bidding amount, suggested energy price, etc.)
