2. The Holy Spirit is the source of power to live the Christian life.
Why did He come?

3. a. To LIVE in YOU Romans 8:9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

4. b. To SHOW unbelievers their need for forgiveness John 16:7,8 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.

Lord, You have forgiven my sin through Your death on the cross. Fill me with your Holy Spirit as You commanded me to be filled and as You promised that You would do if I asked in faith. As an expression of my faith, I now thank You for empowering my life and for filling me with the Holy Spirit.
