Assessing Your Strengths and Areas of Opportunity Executive Sponsorship Behaviors: Assess your current level of proficiency with the following sponsorship behaviors by indicating where see yourself on the continuums below. The intention of this document is to support you in identifying your strengths and areas of opportunity. Behavior Description Clear Opportunity Role Model 1. ACTIVELY ADVOCATES Advocates for protégé’s next promotion; speaks up when appropriate, calls in favors when necessary 2. MAKES CONNECTIONS Makes connections to other senior leaders 3. IDENTIFIES OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPOSURE Ensures protégé is considered for promising opportunities and challenging assignments; advises on executive presence 4. EXPANDS PROTÉGÉ’S SELF-PERCEPTION Expands protégé’s perception of their own skills and capabilities through feedback 5.
