His birth and death Antonio Salieri was born on August 18, 1750 in Legnago, Republic of Venice, Italy. He died on May 7, 1825 at Vienna, Austria.

Non-musical information
He was raised by merchants. He moved to Padua after his parents early death. He met his wife in 1774. He became royal in 1788. His body is buried at Matzleinsdorfer Friedhof.

Music facts He played the piano, organ, and various woodwinds.
He also played the violin and the harpsichord. Florian Leopold Gassman taught him composition in 1766. He composed his first opera by 1768. Mr. Gassman was his influence.
