1 Steering Committee Meeting Amsterdam, Dec 2014
EMODnet Chemistry Steering Committee Meeting Amsterdam, Dec 2014 SMHI – Baltic Sea Magnus Wenzer Steering Committee Meeting, Dec , Amsterdam, Netherlands 1

2 EMODnet Chemistry Updates on the Baltic dataset
CDIs ( , 45%) Most of the errors are still there: Position (0,0) Mismatch between header and semantic header Bad profiles This is due to: Originators have not changed there ODV files Originators have changed their ODV files but have not sent new CDIs to MARIS. No major progress despite a lot of time being spent Delay in data delivery Problems in ODV Steering Committee Meeting, Dec , Amsterdam, Netherlands 2

3 EMODnet Chemistry Problems to discuss
We believe value=0 with QF=1,2 and 6 should be left alone Make no difference QF-scheme will change A lot of work to change values Originators should be encouraged to change their data Option to implement “no value under zero” in DIVA? Aggregating to NOX When aggregating QF-scheme will be changed and we loose QF=6 Adding NO3 and NO2 with one QF=6 is a bit confusing. No problem in DIVA products (it should be clear that data includes QF=6) The dataset that we will provide should NOT include aggregated NOX Steering Committee Meeting, Dec , Amsterdam, Netherlands 3

4 EMODnet Chemistry Problems to discuss
To many DIVA-products Huge amount of data capacity Time consuming Not representative as a climatology at all depths Suggestion is to have 40 periods for a few parameters and 1-2 depths and a couple of seasons, and make 2-3 periods for the rest. Data harvesting Originators have updated their ODV files but not their CDIs. Might it be an option to harvest ALL data for the final run? Steering Committee Meeting, Dec , Amsterdam, Netherlands 4

5 EMODnet Chemistry Problems to discuss
DIVA Be careful with new ODV-format that include several “depth”-parameters. DIVA uses the first match AFTER “Bot. Depth”. Change name of the other “depth”-parameters to be safe. ODV Problems with analysis.log and import.log during SDN import Problems with logfile / historypool during QC Windows 64-bit Steering Committee Meeting, Dec , Amsterdam, Netherlands 5
