2. Galatians 5:13-15
13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." 15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

3. We are called to freedom, not to a life of indulging the flesh, but a life of serving one another in love.

4. The Flesh - more than just this mortal body, speaks of a person who runs his or her own life without depending on God.

5. Galatians 5:16-18
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

Causes us to not do the good we want to do
The Spirit - Holy Spirit who resides in believers
Command: walk by the Spirit,
Promise: you won’t do what the flesh desires

If we walk and are led by the Spirit, we are free from the Law and in fact fulfill it.

8. Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Religious Sins: idolatry, sorcery
Relational Sins: enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying
Alcohol Associated Sins: drunkenness, carousing

10. Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God

11. NAU 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. NIV 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

12. Galatians 5: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Relating to Others: patience, kindness, goodness
General Conduct: faithfulness, gentleness, self-control

14. Galatians 5:24-26
24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
