Monthly electric demand 60 kW or less Commercial account in Maryland Occupied building in the previous 12 months Account cannot be temporary 5

EmPOWER Maryland programs are funded by a charge on your energy bill. EmPOWER Maryland exists by Maryland State Law. All Maryland accounts pay into EmPOWER Maryland. 6

7 Small Business Program Customer Journey
Quick Energy Check-Up (QEC) Performed by Service Provider Select Equipment Service Provider helps select equipment and submit an application Equipment must be ENERGY STAR® Certified or DLC listed Pre-Approval Once pre-approved, Service Provider has 2 months to finish the work Complete Project Once work is completed, your Service Provider will submit paperwork 7

8 What is a Quick Energy Check Up (QEC)?
Service provider will install low-cost and no-cost energy saving measures Includes up to $250 worth of energy-efficient measures No cost to customer No obligation to customer 8

9 Low Cost/No Cost Energy-Efficiency Measures
Your Quick Energy Check-Up will recommend low cost & no cost energy-efficient measures. Here are some examples: No Cost Low Cost Timers on coffee makers & water coolers Insulate exposed water heater & refrigerant pipes Replace worn weather stripping on exterior doors Reduce air infiltration using caulk and spray foam Turn on energy-saving features on electronics Install signs to turn off lights when not in use Water heater thermostat is set to 115⁰F - 120⁰F *if dishwashing is not a factor 4

Pay for your portion of the project in 6-, 12-, or 24-month installments on your electric bill 0% interest $2,500 minimum total project cost No credit check, but your account must be in good standing. 6
